![]() ![]() 1-LS3-1: Make observations to construct an evidence-based account that young plants and animals are alike, but not exactly like, their parents.Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS): Students will be able to take these characteristics and draw a young plant vs.Students will be able to identify how plants are similar to their adult plants based on what they are intended to grow, the species/place it comes from, and the elements needed for it to grow.Students will be able to identify how young plants are different from adult plants based on these characteristics: height, number of leaves, width of overall plant/how much space it takes up, and possibly brightness of color.This specific lesson would be the first to do when introducing young plants since it focuses on more broadly how they are similar and different from their corresponding older, adult plants. This lesson is apart of the larger unit of learning about young plants and animals. ![]()
